Hiatus

I'm not sure when I'll be back, so instead of just disappearing I'm letting you know it's going to be a while longer.

Sorry.

Two New Pages

Hello everyone,

I know I've been insanely slow as of late, but I can only defend myself with the usual "lots of stuff IRL" which is true, and say that I will try to better myself. I had a months vacation but it actually felt like I had more to do during that than when I work... >.<

Rooming with a co-worker/friend and three dogs (including watching a couple of others...) takes its toll. But I do have two new pages for you today. Just click on the tab for chapter 3 and scroll down to the end to find them.

I will TRY to pick up the pace and I hope that you'll indulge me and continue to watch me and patiently wait for new work. Thank you all! Loads of <3!!

First School Day

The first day in his new school and he was over half an hour late. Johnas swore silently to himself while he looked for the classroom that were specified on his schedule. He hated being in the focus and to arrive in the middle of an class would undeniably led to being that more than necessary. If he'd been on time he might have been able to blend in a little more but as things were now that seemed impossible.

He'd been late to begin with and then he'd of course managed to get on the wrong bus. He'd knew enough to know that if he'd reach downtown he'd gone too far. Of course he had and that without even seeing a hint of his stop. After some ands and buts and a ten minute wait on the right bus he'd ended up right. Just to discover that it only were two stops and that on a distance that he'd been able to walk faster than the time he'd spent waiting for the darn bus. Now he was in a rotten mood. He missed his old place so much it almost hurt bodily. Sure, it had been more like a ghetto than a school but he had friends, even if he had to admit they hadn't been the world's greatest, and it had been close enough to walk to.

With a heavy sigh he went up another stair. There were no maps in the place, which would have been needed since it was both big and confusing, and the corridors were surprisingly empty. Although it was class time someone always used to be available. He'd heard voices but never saw anyone so it was impossible to determine whether they came from a classroom or some other place. He stopped at a window when he saw movements out on what seemed to be the schools backyard.. A class, divided in groups of two and three people, walked around beneath the green trees as if they were on vacation and not in school. Apparently there were life...

First Meeting

A couple of days later Johnas got tired of staring at the four walls in his new room and decided to take a walk to explore the backwoods. Majvor and Beth had taken the car to go shopping and even though the thought of having to spend several hours in a mall with two hags had made him feel sick to his stomach he almost wished he'd swallow his nauseousness and gone with them. He'd never been a particular nature lover but anything was better than sitting at home and gawk. In other words, he put his cigarettes in his pocket and set out. He walked along the winding dirt-road for about 15 minutes before some completely insane idea assailed him and he swerved off into a forest path. Completely insane due to the fact that he a while later was utterly and irreversibly lost.

By then he bitterly regretted going off on this fortuitous stroll. His toes had started aching again and all he wanted was to sit down and never again take a single step. Unfortunately he was in the middle of nowhere and couldn't expect to be rescued. He sighed. He didn't have much other choice than to struggle on and hope that he sooner or later would reach some kind of civilization. A house or something where he could ask for directions. At the moment however it looked pretty grave. All he could see was trees and more trees. He had turned around in an attempt to try and walk back in his own tracks but already at the first split of the path he'd realized that he hadn't a clue about where he'd come from. That was what happened when you had a worthless sense of directions and on top of that was completely absent in mind.

He pulled out a cigarette and lit it. For a moment he considered sitting down to smoke it, if not for anything else so to rest his toes, but quickly came to the conclusion that if he sat down he'd probably not want to get up again. So he stubbornly kept going. He had a strong growing feeling that he just got further and further into the wilderness. But he definitely wouldn't turn around again. There was a limit for how long you were able to walk back and forth. If he continued along the path it oughta end somewhere. Hopefully at a bigger road or something whereat he should bump into life sooner or later. The country wasn't that cursedly big. Then again... one always heard about people that disappeared without a trace. They had probably encountered the fate he increasingly clearer saw for himself. Well, if he wasn't back by Sunday Beth would hopefully notify the authorities or something. If nothing else so due to the fact that he started his new school on Monday. But today was Friday and two nights and days out in the woods, even if it was summer and hot at nights, wasn't anything that topped his list on things he wanted to experience. He shuddered. As mentioned, he wasn't a nature lover but in spite of that he would probably have appreciated the beauty in the nature surrounding him in other circs. Firs and pines were growing close together and threw shades over a dull green rug of moss. He could hear birds chirping and rustling that he, after the first chock eased, interpreted as squirrels running up and down tree trunks. He couldn't claim he was scared. He was pretty sure that all the bigger predators in the country were farther north. Pretty sure... If he heard anything that sounded bigger than a kitten he'd probably run for his life, aching toes or not.

Introduction

When the rusty old station wagon stopped with its unbeatable combination of misfiring and several small jumps Johnas Rydberg woke up with a sudden twitch. A short while later he felt completely confused, both due to his upright position and the unfamiliar environment. Then reality caught up with him and his widened azure-blue eyes got their usual bored expression.

"Finally there!"

Elizabeth, more commonly known as Beth, sighed and stretched herself with a big yawn. Johnas didn't as much as glance at his mother. He was too occupied with eying the idyllic scene outside the car's windshield. The red, little wooden-cottage with its white corners, surrounded by a green, flowering garden with gnarled fruit-trees and what seemed to be about hundreds of dazzling flowerbeds, was probably a total dream place in some peoples eyes. All he could see was a house that seemed even smaller than the apartment they'd left behind and the fact that the house in question was several miles from the closest city-core. He'd lived his whole life in the smack middle and four miles away from it felt like an insuperable distance.

The driveway they were on were gravelled and the mere number of big tufts of grass made it pretty clear there hadn't been a car in the household for decades. A few meters away, at the end of the drive-way, was a garage that only seemed to keep standing thanks to a strategically placed fir-tree which it heavily leaned against.. The crap would probably fall to pieces if you tried to open one of the doors. Luckily the residential looked a bit sturdier. Johnas moved his eyes back to the house. The numerous flower-beds didn't seem to have been enough for the owners flower-obsession since there even were pots and hanging baskets with plants deployed here and there. On the baluster to the side door a black and white cat basked in the sun.

"I think we'll thrive here, right sweetie?" Beth complacently said and patted him on the knee.
